![]() ** Dear Friends, Here is the board package link for our Regular Helix Water District Board Meeting: AGENDA REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Wednesday, October 7, 2015 - 5 p.m. 7811 University Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942-0427 Public Hearing is at 5pm on the BRAND NEW WATER RATE STRUCTURE & 5 YEAR WATER RATES BEING PROPOSED for Board Adoption. Above are the rates being proposed and how it affects the average user, dollars and percent increase from the year before. November 1st, Rate Increases in Effect and January 1, 2016 Water Rates Effective on Billings. NOTE: The rates proposed are the maximum that may be implemented without additional notification to ratepayers. As of an email from our Board Secretary today, Monday, October 5, 2016 at 5:20pm: 344 Total valid protests, Helix will accept protests till the end of the public comment at the 5pm Board Meeting on Wednesday. Mr. Nichols’ form letter: 254 (length of 5-Year Rate Notice) Ms. Reigner’s form letter: 15 New petition: 26 Various: 49 NOTE: This is the largest amount of protests we have ever received. In 2009, when the District was proposing a severe residential 5 tier water rate structure we received over 200 protests, that rate structure proposed was killed by the Board.
