** Dear Friends: Here is the board package and link for our Regular Helix Water District Board Meeting: AGENDA REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 6pm 7811 University Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942-0427 Interesting Agenda Items: Item 6. (pdf Page 36) Election of Officers The board elect officers to serve a one-year term per Section 9.1-3 of the policies and procedures manual and adopt Resolution 17-72 appointing the president, vice president, secretary to the board and two assistant secretaries. Currently, Joel Scalzitti is the Board President and I am the Board Vice President – I am hoping that after being on the Helix Water District Board for 11 years that I will be voted in as Board President – fingers are crossed! Item 8. (pdf Page 41) San Diego County Water Authority Treated Water Use Agreement The board approve and authorize the general manager to sign the Treated Water Use Agreement between San Diego County Water Authority and Helix Water District. Due to water use reduction in the county, the San Diego County Water Authority needs to ensure that treated water is used in the County without compromising quality and having to release treated water in a raw water reservoir. Thus, SDCWA worked with agencies in South county to help with water use. Upon accepting this agreement it is understood that we will consider taking additional flows when SDCWA requests and Helix needs however, there will be no, increase in costs to the district taking treated water from pipeline 5 versus having water treated through our own Levy Water Treatment Plant. As always, I welcome your comments and feedback.
